 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. NGIGE WAS A MINISTER UNDER APC, SO THE IDEA THAT THE TINUBU ADMINISTRATION IS USING EFCC TO TARGET OPPOSITION POLITICIANS IS JUST A TIRED STRATEGY TO AVOID THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM- RENO OMOKRI . (PHOTO).

 Ngige was a minister under APC, so the idea that the Tinubu administration is using EFCC to target opposition politicians is just a tired strategy to avoid the elephant in the room- Reno Omokri

New appoint Ambassador of Nigeria and Former presidential Aide, Reno Omokri has debunked the claim that Tinubu's administration is using EFCC to target politicians in opposition parties. He cited the case of the former governor of Anambra and who was also a minister of the federal Republic of Nigeria under APC. In his statement Reno mentioned that;

"Chris Ngige, a former Governor and Minister under the APC, to whom he is still very loyal, and even attended its recent caucus meeting a week ago, was recently arrested by the anti-graft body.The case of Mr Ngige is a very strong defence because this is a tried and tested ally of the President"

Reno posit that If anyone is being investigated or prosecuted for corruption, his or her  only defence should be that they are innocent, not that they are being picked on because they are an opposition politician.

He also maintained  that those who are now heating Tinubu led APC Government with cries of a one-party state are just sore losers who lost elections in their party and refused to stay in that fold to build it up.
