 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. PERRY BAMONTE, LONGTIME GUITARIST AND KEYBOARDIST FOR THE CURE, HAS PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 65 FOLLOWING A SHORT ILLNESS AT HOME OVER CHRISTMAS.(PHOTO).


 Perry Bamonte, longtime guitarist and keyboardist for The Cure, has passed away at the age of 65 following a short illness at home over Christmas.


Born in London on September 3, 1960, he joined the band's circle in 1984 as a roadie and later became Robert Smith's guitar technician before becoming a full member in 1990. He contributed to albums including Wish (1992), Wild Mood Swings (1996), Bloodflowers (2000), and The Cure (2004), performing in hundreds of shows during his 14-year tenure until 2005.


He rejoined The Cure in 2022 for the Shows of a Lost World tour, playing dozens of concerts up to their final show in London on November 1, 2024. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2019.The band remembered him as "quiet, intense, intuitive, constant and hugely creative," affectionately known as "Teddy," and a warm-hearted vital part of their story.
