 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  TRAGEDY ON ABINSI ROAD, 18 SEATER BUS DRIVER DIES IN A FATAL CRASH, POLICE LAUNCH IDENTIFICATION SEARCH


16th December, 2025 


A fatal road accident has claimed the life of a Toyota 18-seater bus driver along the Wannune–Makurdi road. The crash occurred at Abinsi, where the driver reportedly died on the spot.


The vehicle involved bears registration number XE 481 MKD. Authorities say the deceased had no means of identification at the time of the incident, making it difficult to notify his family.


The police are appealing to members of the public with any useful information to assist in identifying the victim. Anyone with details is urged to contact the Officer-in-Charge, Abinsi Police Outstation, on 08038689030, or visit the police station in Abinsi.


Police say timely information could help reunite the deceased with his family and ensure proper arrangements are made.
