 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. Trump, Zelenskyy set to talk with European leaders ahead of summit

Ahead of their in-person meeting on Sunday, President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are set to hold a conference call with European leaders on Saturday, a Ukrainian official confirmed.
The call aims to update allies on the latest developments in their peace proposals to end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, with a joint news conference tentatively planned.
Despite ongoing peace efforts, Russia struck Ukraine’s capital early Saturday with missiles and drones, killing one person and injuring 27.
Zelenskyy said Friday that a 20-point peace plan is about 90% complete and that he had discussions over Christmas with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. Key issues still to be resolved include security guarantees to prevent future Russian aggression and the status of disputed territories.
Posting on X, Zelenskyy wrote, “We are not losing a single day. We have agreed on a meeting at the highest level with President Trump in the near future. A lot can be decided before the new year. Glory to Ukraine.”
