 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Woman dies and officers injured in fire at New Jersey senior living complex

A fire at a senior apartment complex in Bayonne, New Jersey, left one resident dead and injured several police officers.

The blaze erupted around 7:30 a.m. at the 11-story building on 537 Avenue A, with smoke seen billowing from the third floor, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. Firefighters discovered an unresponsive woman inside a bedroom and rushed her to Hudson Regional Hospital Bayonne, where she was pronounced dead. She was later identified as 82-year-old Irene Clark.

Three other residents and eight police officers were treated for smoke inhalation at the hospital, while four additional people received care at the scene. Residents evacuated to a nearby community center before being allowed back into the building later in the day.

Officials said the cause of the fire was not immediately known, and there was no indication of foul play. The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and the Bayonne Fire Department are conducting an ongoing investigation.
