17-YEAR-OLD GIRL HOSPITALISED AFTER ALLEGED KNIFE ATTACK BY NEIGHBOUR’S WIFE

A 17-year-old girl in Taraba State has been hospitalised following an alleged attack by a married woman armed with a knife and razor, sources say. The incident reportedly stems from an earlier dispute involving the woman’s husband.

A family member told Benue Info-pedia that the teenager, who stays with her aunt, had been harassed by a male neighbour whose advances she repeatedly rejected. Trouble started days earlier when the girl visited the man’s shop and was allegedly locked inside and attacked. She reportedly fought back, raised an alarm, and the man’s wife allegedly intervened, attacking her before she escaped.

The girl later informed her aunt, who confronted the couple, and the family believed the matter was settled.

However, the woman allegedly returned to the aunt’s home and attacked the teenager with sharp objects, leaving her with multiple injuries to the face and neck.

The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment. Residents are urging security agencies to investigate and ensure justice. It remains unclear whether the case has been formally reported to the police.
