AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk.  Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi reveals doctors discovered cancerous cells in her cervix

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi revealed that doctors have found cancerous cells on her cervix and that she is undergoing additional tests to determine next steps.

In a TikTok video posted Jan. 20, the 38-year-old reality star shared that abnormal Pap smear results over the past four years had consistently shown precancerous cells. After further examinations, including a biopsy and colposcopy, her doctors discovered cancerous cells at the top of her cervix. “Doctor calls me, and he’s like, ‘Not looking great,’” Polizzi said in the nearly 10-minute video.

The mother of three urged women to stay on top of their screenings, emphasizing the importance of early detection. “I’m terrified. It’s scary,” she said. “We have to get it done because cervical cancer is nothing to joke about.”

Polizzi also discussed the potential treatment options, including a hysterectomy, and admitted that the thought was emotionally difficult. “I’m done having kids, but the idea of getting a hysterectomy is just sad and scary,” she said. She added that if surgery becomes necessary, she would proceed to stay healthy and be there for her children.

She encouraged others experiencing similar health challenges to share their stories in the comments to create a supportive community. Fellow reality star Lauren Sorrentino offered words of encouragement, while fans shared experiences of undergoing hysterectomies, praising the procedures for improving their health and quality of life.
