 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. Zach Bryan’s latest album, With Heaven On Top, has claimed the No. 1 spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart this week, marking another major milestone for the country music star.

Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem follows at No. 2, while Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving takes the third spot. Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl lands at No. 4, and the Demon Hunters' K-pop soundtrack rounds out the top five. Other albums in the top 10 include The Kid Laroi’s Before I Forget at No. 6, SZA’s SOS at No. 7, Tate McRae’s So Close to What at No. 8, Wallen’s One Thing at a Time at No. 9, and Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend at No. 10.
