 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  23-YEAR-OLD KILLED IN BENUE OVER PALM FRUIT DISPUTE, SUSPECT FLEES

A 23-year-old man has died following a violent altercation with his neighbour over palm fruit harvesting in Benue State.


The incident occurred on February 16 at about 2:20 p.m. in Pass Brother Community, Guma Local Government Area.


According to sources, the deceased, identified as David Oraade, allegedly confronted a 30-year-old neighbour, Felix Cephas, accusing him of harvesting palm fruits from trees said to belong to his family.


The disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical fight during which the suspect allegedly inflicted serious injuries on the victim.


David was rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital for medical treatment but was later pronounced dead.


His remains have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.


Police sources say the suspect fled the scene shortly after the incident and is currently at large.


Authorities have launched a manhunt, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal clash are ongoing.
