 CBCN APPOINTS ANAGBE AS BISHOP CHAIRMAN ON LAITY



The Catholic Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, has been appointed Bishop Chairman on Laity by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).


His appointment was announced at the end of the bishops’ conference, which brought together Catholic leaders from across the country to deliberate on issues affecting the Church and the nation.


As Bishop Chairman on Laity, Anagbe is expected to oversee and coordinate activities of lay faithful nationwide under the CBCN framework.


In a reaction, the Chaplain of the Makurdi Diocese Laity, Rev. Fr. Joseph Pilla, alongside the Laity President, Sir Andrew Njie KSJI, the executive council and members of the laity, congratulated the bishop on his new role.


In a statement, they expressed confidence in his leadership capacity and prayed for wisdom and grace as he assumes the national responsibility.
