 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  CBCN APPOINTS ANAGBE AS BISHOP CHAIRMAN ON LAITY



The Catholic Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, has been appointed Bishop Chairman on Laity by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).


His appointment was announced at the end of the bishops’ conference, which brought together Catholic leaders from across the country to deliberate on issues affecting the Church and the nation.


As Bishop Chairman on Laity, Anagbe is expected to oversee and coordinate activities of lay faithful nationwide under the CBCN framework.


In a reaction, the Chaplain of the Makurdi Diocese Laity, Rev. Fr. Joseph Pilla, alongside the Laity President, Sir Andrew Njie KSJI, the executive council and members of the laity, congratulated the bishop on his new role.


In a statement, they expressed confidence in his leadership capacity and prayed for wisdom and grace as he assumes the national responsibility.
