Kim Kardashian Awarded Symbolic 1 Euro in Damages Over 2016 Paris Robbery A Paris court has officially awarded media mogul Kim Kardashian a symbolic 1 euro ($1.15) in damages following the infamous 2016 armed robbery in the French capital.  DAVID MARK CALLS FOR LONGER LEGISLATIVE TERMS, SAYS ONE TERM IS NOT ENOUGH

9th February, 2026

Former Senate President and ADC National Chairman, David Mark, has called for lawmakers to be allowed multiple terms, arguing that a single term is insufficient to deliver effective legislation.

Mark made the remarks on Saturday during the launch of The Burden of Legislators in Nigeria, a book authored by former Senator Effiong Bob.

Speaking on his 20-year experience representing Benue South Senatorial District, Mark said first-term lawmakers often struggle with parliamentary procedures, and it takes time to become fully effective.

“I spent 20 years in the Senate, and I’m very grateful to my electorate. Legislators need more than one term, two, three terms to make a real impact,” he said.

The call comes amid renewed third-term ambitions in Benue State, including his daughter, Blessing Onuh, seeking re-election to the House of Representatives for Otukpo/Ohimini, and his Senate successor, Abba Moro, pursuing a third term.

Mark insisted that experienced lawmakers wield greater influence and are better positioned to serve their constituents. “In the first four years, you are lost. You need more than that,” he added.
