 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  ICPC Operatives Reportedly Arrest Former NIMASA DG Bashir Jamoh In Kaduna


Operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have arrested and detained Dr. Bashir Jamoh, the former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).


According to Sahara Reporters, Jamoh was reportedly intercepted by armed ICPC operatives in Kaduna State on Monday while returning from a court engagement.


Sources said officials subsequently searched his residence before taking him to Abuja for interrogation.


The arrest follows a N300 billion corruption petition filed against him in May 2025 by a coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP).


 The petition alleged widespread financial irregularities during his 2020–2024 tenure, including the leasing of speedboats at inflated costs and the unauthorized recruitment of over 500 individuals.


Investigators are reportedly also reviewing Jamoh’s tenure in connection with a N500 million fine imposed on NIMASA by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria in late 2023 over "fraudulent financial statements," which led to his disqualification from certifying financial reports.


The ICPC probe is expected to examine the "Deep Blue Project" and the sharp increase in NIMASA’s training budget, which grew from N66 million in 2019 to N1.6 billion during Jamoh’s leadership without clear results.
