Catholic Priests Not Like ‘Fake Bishops’, Atiku Blasts Presidency’s Attack On Onaiyekan Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the Presidency’s attack on the Catholic Church and John Cardinal Onaiyekan, accusing the President Bola Tinubu administration of growing intolerant of dissent and uncomfortable truths. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu on Sunday, Atiku said the Presidency chose intimidation and political attacks instead of reflecting on the substance of the cleric’s message. Catholic bishops had recently had an engagement with the president, where the latter defended his record and the independence of the electoral umpire. However, the cardinal in a television interview on Friday said the Catholic bishops told the president that the country is bleeding and the economy is not helping poor citizens.  Nwafor Orizu college of Education, Nsugbe Announce compulsory retirement of Six Staff members with immediate effect.


In a memo dated 2nd Feb., released today on the school Facebook page, the governing council of the Nwafor Orizu college of Education has approved the compulsory of their six staff, mandating them to stop work with immediate effect. 


The decision comes after a meeting held by the governing council on the 27th of January 2026, which based on established findings relating to age discrepancies in their official records. Other reasons include consistent underperformance and gross misconduct.


The following persons were affected by the compulsory retirement..

1. Dr Rose N. Umezinwa

2. Dr Veronica C. Okoli

3. Mrs. Obumselu Christiana Ngozi

4. Mr Ojinna Ndubuisi 

5. Adebisi Kunle

6. Dr Bartholomew Sunday.
