 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. NWAFOR ORIZU COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, NSUGBE ANNOUNCE COMPULSORY RETIREMENT OF SIX STAFF MEMBERS WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. (PHOTO).

 Nwafor Orizu college of Education, Nsugbe Announce compulsory retirement of Six Staff members with immediate effect.


In a memo dated 2nd Feb., released today on the school Facebook page, the governing council of the Nwafor Orizu college of Education has approved the compulsory of their six staff, mandating them to stop work with immediate effect. 


The decision comes after a meeting held by the governing council on the 27th of January 2026, which based on established findings relating to age discrepancies in their official records. Other reasons include consistent underperformance and gross misconduct.


The following persons were affected by the compulsory retirement..

1. Dr Rose N. Umezinwa

2. Dr Veronica C. Okoli

3. Mrs. Obumselu Christiana Ngozi

4. Mr Ojinna Ndubuisi 

5. Adebisi Kunle

6. Dr Bartholomew Sunday.
