 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. ZIMBABWEAN TO APPEAR IN MAKHADO COURT AFTER WOMAN STABBED IN TSHIKOTA VILLAGE. (PHOTO).

 Zimbabwean to appear in Makhado court after woman stabbed in Tshikota Village


A 22-year-old Zimbabwean national is expected to appear before the Makhado Magistrate’s Court on 9 February 2026 on a charge of attempted murder.


Police allege he stabbed and seriously injured a 39-year-old woman during a late-night confrontation in Tshikota Village on 7 February. Community members apprehended and assaulted the suspect before police intervened and transported both parties to hospital.


The suspect was later arrested. The case continues in the Makhado Magistrate’s Court.
