 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24.  Child abuse: Lagos Govt rescues 11-year-old boy tortured by his biological mother


The Lagos State Government has rescued an 11-year-old boy who was tortured by his biological mother. 


According to a statement issued by the Lagos State Bureau of Public Defender (BPD) on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the child suffered repeated physical abuse involving electric cables and other harmful objects, leaving him with multiple injuries.


Upon receiving a report about the abuse, the Bureau reported the case to the police. 


Following an investigation by the Nigeria Police Force at the Igbogbo Division, the mother was arrested and charged to court.


“The Bureau of Public Defender (BPD) received a case involving an 11-year-old minor (name withheld) who was subjected to severe physical abuse by his biological mother,” the statement read.


“The abuse reportedly involved the repeated use of electric cables and other harmful objects, resulting in multiple injuries of varying degrees.


“The Bureau reported to the police and following a thorough investigation conducted by the Nigeria Police Force at the Igbogbo Division in Ikorodu, the suspect was arrested and subsequently charged to court.


“The matter was brought before Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos.


“In line with its mandate to uphold and protect the rights and welfare of children.


“The Bureau of Public Defender ensured that the victim was promptly removed from the abusive environment and placed in a secure shelter for care and protection. 


“The alleged perpetrator has been remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings.”
