 PRAY FOR PEACE IN NIGERIA, SANWO-OLU URGES INTENDING PILGRIMS Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has charged the Intending Pilgrims embarking on the 2026 holy pilgrimage exercise to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to actively participate in the prayer sessions for the prosperity of Lagos State and Nigeria. Governor Sanwo-Olu gave the charge during a one-day seminar held at the Lagos Television De-Blue Roof Ikeja for the 2026 Hajj Intending Pilgrims, organised by the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr Ibrahim Layode, said that the Hajj exercise revolves around intermittent prayer sessions and the pilgrims should use the opportunity to pray for the State and Nigeria at large fervently.  Hawaii issues evacuations on Oahu as flooding raises risk of dam failure


Heavy rains have caused severe flooding on Hawaii’s Oahu island, leading officials to issue evacuation orders and warn of a potential dam collapse, marking the second major rain event in a week.

Authorities directed residents in Haleiwa and Waialua, including areas near the Wahiawa Dam, to evacuate immediately, citing the risk that the dam “may collapse or breach at any time.” Oahu Emergency Management warned of “life-threatening flooding and catastrophic amounts of fast-moving water in downstream areas.” Governor Josh Green confirmed that the Hawaii National Guard has been activated and additional resources are being deployed to assist with evacuations, shelter openings, and public safety amid the ongoing severe storm.
