 26-year-old woman who made false rape claim against ‘kind’ UK banker and tried to blackmail him for money is jailed in Hong Kong  A woman who falsely accused a banker of rape has been jailed for six years.  Isabel Anonia Barbra Eudora Rose from Hackney, East London, was convicted of blackmail and perverting the course of justice after she demanded £100,000 from the UK banker she accused of rape.  The 26-year-old was sentenced at the District Court in Hong Kong on Wednesday, July 22, with Judge Adriana Noelle Tse Ching finding her guilty of blackmail and perverting the course of public justice.  Israel kills top Iranian naval commander in precise strike on Bandar Abbas 

Israel’s military announced Thursday that Iranian naval commander Alireza Tangsiri was killed in a targeted strike in Bandar Abbas, accusing him of orchestrating efforts to block the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz. The Israeli Defense Forces said Tangsiri oversaw maritime attacks against Middle Eastern nations and targeted energy infrastructure belonging to the U.S. and other countries. The U.S. Central Command confirmed his death, with CentCom commander Admiral Brad Cooper calling the strike a step toward regional safety and stating that operations against the Iranian navy would continue. Iran has not issued a response.

The strike also reportedly killed Behnam Rezaei, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy Intelligence Directorate. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military continues to target Iranian regime figures, describing Tangsiri as responsible for the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and highlighting ongoing U.S.-Israel cooperation in military efforts. The Israeli military has previously targeted Iran’s intelligence minister Esmail Khatib, senior security official Ali Larijani, and Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani. Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been severely disrupted since the U.S. and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran in late February, with Iran retaliating against vessels attempting passage in recent weeks.
