 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 New Head of Service Urges Anambra Civil Servants to Embrace Efficiency and Accountability

‎The newly appointed Head of Service in Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, has called on civil servants to shift towards efficiency and accountability, promising improvements in welfare. 

‎Addressing staff at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, Iwouno outlined her vision for a professional, merit-based, and citizen-centered service that aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's goals.

‎Iwouno emphasized that her mission is not just a statement, but a call to action, demanding sincerity and commitment from all workers. She expressed disappointment with the recent governor's visit, which revealed empty offices during working hours, and stressed that absenteeism, lateness, and poor attitudes are unacceptable.

‎The Head of Service pledged to improve welfare, including fixing ministry vehicles, and mandated that Wednesday 1st April , 2026 will be cleaning day for all staff. She urged permanent secretaries and directors to cascade her messages across ministries for enforcement.

‎In his remarks, Comrade Uche Nwoye extended congratulations to the Head of Service on her appointment, commending her for initiating an engaging forum. He stressed the imperative for workers to discharge their duties with diligence, and expressed hope for a marked improvement in their overall conduct and productivity.

‎In an interview, the supervisor permanent secretary of the Ministry of Information, Pharmacist Oby Uchebo expressed delight that the head of service had the interactive session with the civil servants to feel their challenges and what she expected from the workers.

‎Earlier, attendees expressed gratitude to the HOS for the insightful session, while highlighting key challenges such as unreliable electricity, inadequate working tools, and a shortage of accommodation for civil servants.

‎Also, Mrs. Obianuju Onwuka portrayed the Head of Service as a dedicated leader committed to serving both the workforce and the government with utmost dedication and effectiveness.
