Nick Cannon and Amber Rose bond over being Republicans

Nick Cannon made headlines on his show Nick Cannon’s Big Drive after calling the Democratic Party “the party of the KKK.”

The remark came during a discussion with guest Amber Rose, who explained her decision to leave the Democratic Party and support Republicans.

Rose argued that Democrats don’t care about people of color, while Republicans do, and Cannon agreed, saying that many people don’t realize Republicans were historically the party that freed enslaved people.

He clarified, however, that he doesn’t fully align with either party.

Rose went on to share that she voted for Donald Trump, describing him as the better option between the two major candidates.

Cannon echoed her sentiment, saying he supported Trump as well. Rose recalled her speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention, where she said she felt embraced by Trump’s supporters regardless of race or identity.

She noted that Trump personally asked her to speak at the event, which she described as a career highlight.

The conversation marked a sharp contrast to Rose’s earlier criticisms of Trump in 2016, when she called him an “idiot.”

Both she and Cannon praised Trump for appointing Alice Johnson, a Black woman, to a key role in his administration, arguing that it showed he was not racist.

Cannon’s comments also revived attention to his past controversies, including antisemitic remarks that led to his firing from ViacomCBS, though he later apologized.
