 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. The planes have brought in technical ​equipment as well as dozens of physicians, engineers, lab experts and construction work...

Vice President Kashim Shettima has commended the Gates Foundation for sustaining investments and humanitarian aid in Nigeria


The Gates  Foundation as the Vice President acknowledged, remains the nation's strategic partner in the drive to change the Nations narrative.


The Vice President stated this when he received in audience a delegation of the Gates Foundation led by President of the Foundation's Global Growth and Opportunity division, Hari Menon at the Presidential Villa.


He pledged support for the Foundation's request to deepen and broaden its partnership with the Nigerian Government and the private sector in digital transformation, nutrition, agriculture and health sectors.


Hari Menon, President of the Gates Global Growth and Opportunity division of the Foundation, said they were on a mission to deepen and broaden the Foundation's partnership with Nigeria.


He maintained that the idea is to advance the ongoing reforms of the administration of President Bola Tinubu, acknowledging that the country is going through a remarkable moment under the administration.
