 Obosi Development Union Backs Dialect Quiz to Preserve Local Language ‎ ‎  ‎By Chiedu Uche Okoye ‎ ‎The President General of the Obosi Development Union (ODU), Barrister  Chimezie Obi, has expressed his support for the upcoming Obosi dialect quiz competition, aimed at preserving the Obosi dialect of the Igbo language from extinction.  ‎ ‎The event, initiated by Pharm. Obi Egbuonye's "Revive Obosi Dialect Project", is scheduled to take place at the Obosi town hall on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026. ‎ ‎According to Barr. Obi, the competition will promote the Obosi dialect and contribute to the preservation of the Igbo language.  Kaduna Easter Church Attack: 31 Hostages Rescued, 5 Dead In Swift Military Operation


Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully thwarted a terrorist attack in Ariko Village, located in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, rescuing 31 civilians abducted during an Easter church service.


The incident took place at an ECWA Church during Easter celebrations, triggering a distress call that prompted an immediate military response. 


Acting quickly and with support from local residents, the troops engaged the attackers in a gun battle, forcing them to abandon the hostages.


Among those rescued was one injured victim, now receiving medical care.

Sadly, five individuals lost their lives in the attack, and their bodies were recovered at the scene.


Reports also indicated that the fleeing attackers may have suffered heavy casualties, as blood trails were seen along their escape paths.


In the aftermath, the Nigerian Army has intensified efforts to pursue the attackers, deploying additional personnel to strengthen security, prevent further incidents, and locate any remaining captives.


The Army reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity, vowing to continue coordinated operations with other security agencies and local communities.


Residents have also been encouraged to remain vigilant and support security efforts by sharing timely and reliable information, emphasizing that community cooperation is key to lasting peace.
