 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. NAPTIP RESCUES WOMAN FROM SPOUSAL BATTERY IN ABUJA
Rapid Response Squad Intervenes Swiftly at Asokoro Extension, Commences Investigation

ABUJA, NIGERIA – APRIL 9, 2026:

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons VICTIM (NAPTIP), through its Rapid Response Squad (RRS), has rescued a 36- year-old woman from a case of spousal battery at Asokoro Extension, Abuja. The suspect, identified as Mr. Godwin, a 48-year-old male, was reported to have physically assaulted the victim, who is his wife. Preliminary findings indicate that the couple has been married for 22 years. Further checks revealed that both the suspect and the victim are of Benue State origin, from Kenshishe. 
The intervention followed credible information received by the Agency, prompting a swift response by the NAPTIP Rapid Response Squad, which successfully rescued the victim from the abusive environment and moved her to safety for necessary care and support. NAPTIP has since commenced necessary procedures to investigate the matter and ensure that all appropriate legal steps are taken in line with its mandate to protect vulnerable persons and respond promptly to all forms of abuse, violence, and exploitation. 
The Agency reiterates its unwavering commitment to the protection of women, children, and other vulnerable groups, while calling on members of the public to continue to report cases of domestic violence, abuse, and related offences for immediate intervention.
