 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. Perm Sec, Market Leader, Traders Laud Soludo's Abolishment of Sit-at-Home, Praise Market Reforms

Permanent Secretary, Traders and market leader have commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo's administration for abolishing the Monday sit-at-home, describing it as a welcome development. 


The commendations came during a thanksgiving celebration organized by the Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA) at Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area.


Engr. Micheal Obiekwe, Permanent Secretary, Anambra State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, represented Governor Soludo at the event, saying, "Today, we join the market community to thank God for our lives and sustained progress in the market. 


"We are free to do our businesses, and the governor has much more plans for the market community."


Chief Humphrey Anuna, President General (PG) of ASMATA, thanked Governor Soludo for ensuring everlasting peace in the markets.

 

"The governor's efforts have brought peace and progress to our markets," he said.


Other market leaders, including Chief Obiora Oforleh (Award), Chairman, New Auto Spare Parts Nkpor; Mr. Evaristus Ejezie, Chairman, Iron Dealers Union Nteje; and Chief Chinedu Ubah (Igwe Odd), Onye Aghana Nwanne Ya Butchers Association Umunya, echoed similar sentiments.


Oforleh described the sit-at-home era as a thing of the past, saying that traders suffered during that period. 


Ejezie hailed Governor Soludo as the best governor so far in the state, citing his achievements.


Ubah thanked Anuna for restoring peace in the markets, adding that the Governor is "Oluatuegwu", a blessing.


The traders' celebration marked a new chapter for Anambra's markets, with hope for continued peace and progress
