 Onyekesi Visits Assaulted Boy in Hospital, Assures Family of Justice ‎ ‎By Mokwugwo Ogochukwu ‎ ‎The Anambra State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Esther Onyekesi, has paid a visit to Master Chiziterem, the boy is currently receiving treatment in hospital following an alleged brutal assault. ‎ ‎Mrs. Onyekesi visited the victim on June 18, to assess his condition and offer words of encouragement to him and his family. The visit followed an earlier intervention by the ministry, which had sent a delegation to the hospital shortly after the incident. ‎ ‎Speaking during the visit, the commissioner reiterated the Anambra State Government's commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of children and other vulnerable persons.  ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND SUES FOR CALM OVER VIRAL VIDEO OF ABUSE/ASSAULT, NOTES THAT ONE OF THE SUSPECTS IS IN CUSTODY AND EFFORTS BEING INTENSIFIED FOR THE ARREST OF THE OTHER


The Anambra State Police Command has called on members of the public to remain calm following the circulation of a disturbing viral video showing two young women physically assaulting another girl in Umueri.


The Command confirms that one of the suspects, Chidimma Ogugua, aged 19, has been arrested and is currently in Police custody, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the other fleeing suspect.


Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim was subjected to physical abuse following a disagreement. The Command strongly condemns the act, describing it as cruel, inhuman, and a clear violation of the law.


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, reassures the public that justice will be served and reiterates the Command’s commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of all individuals, especially vulnerable persons.


The Command further urges anyone with useful information that could aid the ongoing investigation or lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspect to come forward, assuring that such information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.


Further developments will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
