CHELSEA HANDLER RIPS INTO 'RACIST' AND 'SEXIST' SHANE GILLIS AND TONY HINCHCLIFFE AFTER KEVIN HART ROAST SPECIAL. (PHOTO).

Chelsea Handler rips into 'racist' and 'sexist' Shane Gillis and Tony Hinchcliffe after Kevin Hart roast special

Chelsea Handler criticized comedians Shane Gillis and Tony Hinchcliffe for their controversial jokes at Kevin Hart’s recent Netflix roast.

Speaking on the Den Cole’s Funny Knowing You podcast, Handler labeled them “racists, bigots, and sexist,” saying she found their material offensive.

She specifically condemned Gillis’ remark comparing Hart’s height to a lynching, stressing that “lynching Black people is not a joke” and calling it worse than rape.

Handler also disapproved of Hinchcliffe’s joke about Sheryl Underwood’s late husband, though Underwood herself later defended the humor.

Handler argued that Hart deserved a more elevated roast, one that could be sharp without being “gross.” She said the event carried a “disgusting vibe” and criticized the reliance on shock humor.

Gillis responded through Page Six with a dismissive statement, while Hinchcliffe’s team did not comment.

Gillis had also introduced Handler at the roast with biting remarks about her past attendance at a Jeffrey Epstein event and her liberal views, which she has previously addressed as an awkward situation where she did not know Epstein.

Other comedians weighed in on the roast as well. Michael Che, who was originally scheduled to appear but withdrew due to Saturday Night Live commitments, later criticized the jokes in now-deleted Instagram posts.

He argued that white comedians often rely on slavery, racial violence, and taboo topics in roasts, contrasting them with the lighter style of Black comedians.

Che also pointed out that Gillis’ writing team consisted entirely of white men, questioning the choice for an event celebrating one of the most successful Black comics of the decade.
