 Kate Middleton Shares Sweet Memory Of Late Family Dog During Italy Visit Princess Kate had a touching personal moment during her visit to Italy after her late dog Lupo unexpectedly became part of a classroom activity. The Princess of Wales, 44, was visiting Scuola Comunale d'infanzia Anna Frank in Reggio Emilia on May 13 to learn more about the well-known Reggio Emilia Approach to early childhood education when the emotional exchange happened. While sitting with children during one of the learning sessions, Kate looked through papers featuring animal names written in Italian. One word immediately caught her attention, “Lupo,” which translates to “wolf.” The moment clearly struck a chord with the princess. “Our dog was called Lupo. We had a dog that was called Lupo,” she said warmly, placing a hand against her chest as she smiled.  FORCE COMMANDER MNJTF  VISITS OPHK, SEEKS ROBUST COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS AGAINST TERRORISM


In furtherance of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts to strengthen joint operations between the Multi National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) N’Djamena and the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), the Force Commander (FC) MNJTF, Major General Saidu Audu, undertook an operational visit to the Headquarters OPHK in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.


During the engagement, the Force Commander received a comprehensive operational brief on the activities of OPHK, followed by a robust interactive session with senior officers on some important engagements. Major General Audu stated that the aim of the visit was to  brainstorm and generate high volume of ideas with OPHK towards achieving operational successes. Equally, to enhance collaboration for deeper synergy and jointness between  OPHK and MNJTF. 


The FC further emphasized that collaborative efforts remain the most viable pathway to decisively decimate terrorist elements and deny them freedom of action. He described the MNJTF as a unique multinational alliance comprising troops from contributing nations.  


While appreciating the Theatre Commander OPHK for the warm reception accorded to him and members of his entourage, Major General Audu commended the Theatre Command for upholding its mandate, which has significantly enhanced operational successes and brought the insurgency under considerable control. 


Earlier in his remarks, the Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, thanked the FC MNJTF for the visit, which he described as timely and strategic, which  will no doubt enhance the operational effectiveness of OPHK and the MNJTF in the security, peace and economic interest of the contributing nations of the MNJTF. 


He reaffirmed OPHK’s commitment to sustained collaboration with MNJTF in the fight against terrorism and insurgency in North East Nigeria, as well as its resolve to safeguard lives and property in the region for improved socio-economic activities of the Chad development.


The  visit attended by the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 OPHK, Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu; the Deputy Force Commander MNJTF, Brigadier General Ndjonkep Frederic; the Chief of Staff to the Theatre Commander, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed; Component Commanders; Field Commanders; Principal Staff Officer to the Headquarters Theatre Command of OPHK, as well as other senior officers from MNJTF and OPHK. 


Highlights of the visit included the inspection of a Quarter Guard by the FC MNJTF,  briefings, an interactive session, presentation of souvenirs, endorsement of the visitors’ register, and a group photograph.
