 APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL PRESS STATEMENT ATIKU MUST EXPLAIN THE LEGAL AND FISCAL BASIS OF HIS PETROL SUBSIDY PROPOSAL At his press conference in Abuja on Friday, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar reiterated his proposed  “production subsidy” for locally refined petrol, which he said would reduce pump prices. He went further to ask President Bola Tinubu to slash the cost of diesel and petrol at the pump. That proposal raises important legal, fiscal and practical questions that he must answer. Section 205(1) of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 provides that unrestricted free-market conditions shall determine wholesale and retail prices of petroleum products. The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, in a statement on Saturday, explained that it neither fixes pump prices nor issues administrative price templates, except where the statutory conditions for intervention are met. Kendall Jenner turns heads at Met after party with bold fashion choice


Kendall Jenner stepped into the Met Gala after party scene with a look that quickly got people talking, showing a different side of her style just hours after the main event.


After walking the red carpet, she headed to the Saint Laurent after party on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, where she swapped her earlier outfit for a sleek satin dress. 


The design featured a structured corset top and a bold detail that leaned into the growing “illusion” fashion trend, paired with a fitted skirt that gave the look a sharp finish.


By her side was Hailey Bieber, who also made a quick outfit change. 


After appearing at the main event in a flowing Grecian-inspired Yves Saint Laurent gown, she arrived at the after party in a short white dress that felt lighter and more playful.


The energy across the city shifted as the night moved on. Several celebrities made their way to different after parties, including Katy Perry and Sabrina Carpenter, who were spotted heading to a gathering at Zero Bond. 


Katy changed into a soft pink mini dress with textured details, while Sabrina layered her sequined outfit with a bold coat.


Margot Robbie took a more relaxed route, trading her red carpet gown for jeans paired with a sparkling jacket as she joined the late-night scene.


While the after parties delivered style and star power, the main event itself, held at Metropolitan Museum of Art, had already stirred strong reactions earlier in the evening.


The 2026 Met Gala, overseen by Anna Wintour and supported by Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos, faced criticism from some attendees and viewers online.


During the opening moment, a live performance led by Joshua Henry, joined by a choir, set the tone inside the venue. 


While some guests appeared to enjoy the performance, reactions online were mixed, with several viewers questioning the direction and overall feel of the event.
