MET GALA 2026: MOHAMED HADID SHARES AI IMAGE OF GIGI BY MISTAKE. (PHOTO).

He thought it was her

Gigi Hadid became the center of an unexpected online moment after her father, Mohamed Hadid, shared an image he believed showed her at the Met Gala, only for it to turn out to be AI-generated.

The 77-year-old posted the photo on social media, praising the look as a “classic Hadid moment.”

The image showed a woman in a dramatic white and gold gown, complete with puffed sleeves, a long train, and detailed floral patterns.

The styling included a sleek bun and gold jewellery, giving it a polished, high-fashion feel.

But there was one issue, the image was not real.

It did not take long for people online to notice. Many pointed out that the face in the photo did not resemble Gigi, with reactions ranging from confusion to amusement. Comments quickly followed, with some joking that the resemblance was off, while others found the mix-up surprisingly funny.

The post was later removed.

While the AI image created a stir, Gigi’s actual Met Gala appearance told a different story.

She arrived in a bold black Miu Miu look, wearing a sheer dress with carefully placed detailing.

Underneath, her styling balanced the design while keeping the overall look sharp and intentional.

Her hair also set her apart from the AI version. Instead of a tight bun, she wore it loose in a soft, voluminous blowout, paired with understated makeup that kept the focus on the outfit.
