 26-year-old woman who made false rape claim against ‘kind’ UK banker and tried to blackmail him for money is jailed in Hong Kong  A woman who falsely accused a banker of rape has been jailed for six years.  Isabel Anonia Barbra Eudora Rose from Hackney, East London, was convicted of blackmail and perverting the course of justice after she demanded £100,000 from the UK banker she accused of rape.  The 26-year-old was sentenced at the District Court in Hong Kong on Wednesday, July 22, with Judge Adriana Noelle Tse Ching finding her guilty of blackmail and perverting the course of public justice.  NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT

At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT. 


Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination. 


A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.


At the time of this report, the operation is still ongoing. However, sixteen (16) casualties have so far been evacuated to Asokoro General Hospital out of which, four (4) were confirmed dead.
