 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24.  Office of the National Security Adviser Trains Security Personnel For Enhanced Security Protection In Africa


In furtherance of Nigeria’s commitment to advancing regional peace and security through strategic partnerships, the National Counter Terrorism Centre, Office of the National Security Adviser, is hosting an induction and orientation training for members of the Committee of Experts of the African Union Peace and Security Council.


The training is aimed at equipping participants with the requisite strategic insights to effectively support the Peace and Security Council, in addressing emerging security challenges across the African continent.


The programme provided a platform for experts to deepen their understanding of the Council’s mandate, operational frameworks, and the mechanisms for conflict prevention, peacebuilding and counterterrorism cooperation among African Union member states.


It also underscores the importance of strengthening institutional capacity and fostering collaboration in tackling terrorism, violent extremism, and other threats to peace and security in Africa.
