 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. POLICE ARREST SUSPECT, RECOVER 18 STOLEN RAMS WORTH ₦7M IN BAUCHI


Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a suspect and recovered 18 stolen rams following a swift intelligence-led operation in Bauchi Metropolis.


On 19th May 2026 at about 0200 hours, the Police Monitoring Team attached to the Area Command, Bauchi Metropolis, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a white Hummer bus with registration number DELTA WW-882 ZR and a dark ash Toyota Camry car with registration number BAUCHI NNG-293-AA along Gubi Road, Bauchi.


The vehicles were found loaded with 18 rams. One suspect, Sayyadi Abubakar, male, aged 58 years, of Tahoua Town, Maradi State, Niger Republic, was arrested at the scene.


During interrogation, the suspect confessed to conspiring with one Alaji Ibrahim and four other accomplices, all of the same address, who are currently at large. The group allegedly stole the rams from a location opposite A.A. Kunya Filling Station along Murtala Mohammed Way, Bauchi.


The syndicate is known to replace vehicle plate numbers with those of any state they visit to facilitate their criminal activities.


Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects. Investigation into the matter is ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court upon its conclusion.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+), reiterates the Command’s commitment to tackling criminal activities and urges members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to aid security operations.
