 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8.  PRESIDENT TINUBU CELEBRATES GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN ON HIS BIRTHDAY


President Tinubu has congratulated the governor of Ogun State Dapo Biodun on his birthday.


A statement personally signed by President Tinubu reads thus, "I extend my warmest congratulations to Prince Dapo Abiodun, Governor of Ogun State and Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, on his birthday. 


Notably, Governor Abiodun's birthday coincides with his seventh year in office. I commend him for his people-centred approach to governance in Ogun State.


His implementation of the “Building Our Future Together” Agenda—anchored on five development pillars: infrastructure, social well-being and welfare, education, youth empowerment and job creation, and agriculture—is especially commendable.


From transforming the state’s infrastructure, including the construction of a modern airport and the establishment of an airline, to adopting CNG and electric vehicles for transportation, expanding healthcare, improving access to education, and creating an enabling environment for investment, Prince Abiodun has significantly elevated the standard of governance in Ogun State.


I acknowledge his efforts in advancing Ogun State's industrial revolution and 'Ease of Doing Business', feats which are clearly in tandem with the Renewed Hope Agenda of my administration.
