 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

PRESIDENT TINUBU GREETS ELDER STATESMAN, ALHAJI ASHAFA EROGBOGBO, ON HIS CENTENARY BIRTHDAY

 

I extend warm greetings to Alhaji Ashafa Ajibola Erogbogbo, an elder statesman and retired aviation supervisor at Shell Company Nigeria Limited, as he marks his centenary on May 28.

 

Reaching 100 years is a remarkable milestone, a rare blessing, and a reward for a life of discipline, dedication, integrity, and selfless service to humanity and the nation.

 

I join your family in giving glory to God for your century-long journey and your contributions to national development, particularly through your service years at Government Printing Press, Nigeria Customs and Excise and later Shell Company Nigeria Limited. In all the places where you worked, you demonstrated professionalism, diligence, and a commitment to excellence.

 

Your role as a respected community leader in Ikorodu, Lagos State and mentor is widely acknowledged. Your wisdom, counsel, and exemplary lifestyle continue to inspire younger generations.

 

It is noteworthy that you, the father of Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), remain sharp of mind and warm of spirit at this advanced age.

 

I rejoice with you, your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as you celebrate this extraordinary milestone. I also look forward to reading your life story, “Echoes of Grace: The Journey of a Century,” published to mark your birthday.
