 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 TROOPS OF OPERATION EASTERN SANITY II BUST CRIMINAL HIDEOUT, RECOVER EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS IN ENUGU


Troops of Operation EASTERN SANITY II have recorded another operational success against criminal elements in the South East following a raid operation conducted in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State.


Acting on credible intelligence, troops deployed at Oji River, in conjunction with Keystone personnel from Oji River LGA, conducted a raid operation at about 0430 hours on 23 May 2026 on a house suspected to be harbouring cultists and other criminal elements at Achi Town in Oji River LGA.


During the operation, troops recovered 8 motorcycles and 2 buckets of locally made gun powder suspected to be used for criminal activities.


Additionally, troops apprehended 3 suspects namely Mr Ozor Benjamin (85 years) from Isikwe Achi, Mrs Miracle Eze (26 years) and Mrs Ogechukwu Okorie (29 years), both from Umuoka Achi in Oji River LGA, Enugu State.


The arrested suspects and recovered items have since been handed over to Keystone Oji River for further investigation and necessary action.


The successful operation highlights the commitment of Operation EASTERN SANITY II troops and other security agencies to sustaining offensive operations against criminal elements threatening peace and security in the South East region. Troops remain resolute in denying criminal elements freedom of action while encouraging members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies.
