 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. A 14-YEAR-OLD OHIO GIRL HAS TAKEN HER OWN LIFE, AND HER FAMILY BELIEVES THAT SOCIAL MEDIA PLAYED A ROLE.(PHOTO).

 A 14-year-old Ohio girl has taken her own life, and her family believes that social media played a role.


Szedi Roush sadly took her own life on Friday, June 12th. The loss of such a young and vibrant life has left the Blanchester, Ohio community shocked and filled with grief as they struggle to make sense of her passing. 


Szedi was a student at Blanchester High School, where she was very active in sports and, by all outward appearances, a happy and outgoing teen.


However, Szedi's family says there was a side to her kept hidden from her family. Despite being hidden from family, Szedi posted about her feelings  on TikTok. Her father says her most recent post described her feelings, and the method she intended to take her life, garnered over 40 reactions ranging from likes to hearts. They feel that is unacceptable and that Szedi's passing can help other youths reach out for help in the future. 


Szedi's presence at school and at home will be greatly missed. 


The family has started The Szedi Roush Foundation.  The mission of this new organization is to help families affected by the tragedy of s**cide and bridge the gap between grief and healing.
