 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 IBUZO, TRANSPORT MINISTRY AND ANAMBRA WEST CELEBRATE GOVERNOR’S BIRTHDAY WITH COMMISSIONING OF NEW SPEED BOATS

‎The Anambra State Government recorded another milestone on 28 July 2026, as the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Edward Obiefuna Ibuzo, joined the Anambra West Local Government leadership to commission four speed boats aimed at improving transportation, safety, and accessibility across riverine communities.

‎The commissioning ceremony, held at Odotemaka Riverside, Nzam, coincided with the birthday of Governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, and was celebrated as another demonstration of his visionary leadership and commitment to impactful infrastructure for Ndi Anambra.

‎His Royal Highness Commander Raymond Omorja, Igwe of Owere; His Royal Majesty Joseph Ajodo, Igwe of Ụkwara; and His Royal Highness Joseph Aluukwu, Igwe of Nzam, among other dignitaries, graced the colorful ceremony.

‎The Mayor of Anambra West Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Edith Nkeiru Ndive, popularly known as Mmadiche, reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to improving residents’ welfare through strategic investments tailored to the transportation needs of riverine communities.

‎Hon. Ibuzo described the project as further evidence of Governor Soludo’s vision to build an integrated and efficient transport system that connects every part of Anambra State.

‎The Commissioner noted that expanding safe and reliable water transportation remains a priority for the Ministry of Transport. He added that investments in modern marine infrastructure will improve mobility, promote economic activities, encourage tourism, and support sustainable development.

‎Hon. Ibuzo also launched a QR Code boat identification initiative, beginning with the four newly commissioned speed boats, to strengthen security, accountability, regulation, and effective management of water transportation across the state.

‎Residents, government officials, stakeholders, traditional rulers, and guests applauded the initiative as a fitting birthday tribute to Governor Soludo’s transformative leadership, infrastructure renewal, inclusive governance, and improved quality of life statewide.
