Arsenal players reportedly believe Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior is heading to the Emirates, with the potential move described as a "done deal" inside Mikel Arteta’s dressing room.
According to Diario AS, Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has told some players the club is pushing to sign the Brazilian. Arteta is also said to have spoken with Vinicius about the role he could play in Arsenal’s ambitions.
The speculation comes amid stalled contract talks with Real Madrid. Reports claim Madrid are unwilling to meet Vinicius’ wage demands. The winger is reportedly seeking a deal comparable to Kylian Mbappé’s reported £500,000-per-week salary, while Madrid’s offer is closer to £360,000 per week.
Madrid’s stance is said to be that “no player is bigger than the club,” leaving an agreement uncertain and opening the door to a Premier League move.
If it happens, the transfer would be one of the biggest in Premier League history. Vinicius could also join fellow Brazilian Bruno Guimarães, who is reportedly close to joining Arsenal after a reported £75m agreement with Newcastle United.
However, there has been no official confirmation from Arsenal or Real Madrid, and Vinicius’ future remains unresolved.
