A midnight fire outbreak has caused significant damage to parts of Eda Plaza in Jabi, Abuja.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, between one and two a.m., sending panic among residents and business owners in the area.
Firefighters from the Federal Fire Service and Julius Berger responded to the emergency, battling the inferno for about four hours before it was brought under control.
Some shops and properties were affected, with losses recorded by some business owners.
However, there were no reports of fatalities as of the time of filing this report, with some persons said to have been lucky to escape the affected area.
While the exact cause of the fire has yet to be established, electrical fault is being suspected.
Authorities are expected to assess the extent of the damage and investigate the circumstances surrounding the outbreak.
