 How Bauchi Accountant-General Transferred State Funds to Private Company - Witness   Trial of the Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Sirajo Muhammed Jaja continued on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Obiora Egwuatu with a witness revealing how Jaja diverted state funds to a private company. Jaja is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC ,  alongside Aliyu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammed Hafiz, Ari Manga and Muhammed Aminu Bose, for alleged corruption. The defendants are being prosecuted by the EFCC on an amended five-count charge of money laundering, diversion of public funds, and criminal misappropriation of funds to the tune of N1,635,270,350.9 (One Billion, Six Hundred and Thirty-five Million, Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira, Nine Kobo).  Kauru Rep. Hon. Mukhtar Chawai Donates Relief Materials To Naridon Attack Victims, Reaffirms Commitment To Peace


The Member representing Kauru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Mukhtar Zakari Chawai, has donated relief materials to victims of the recent attack on Naridon community in Chawai Chiefdom, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.


During his visit to the affected community, Hon. Chawai expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Naridon community, and the entire Chawai Chiefdom. He described the attack as unfortunate and assured residents that they were not alone in this difficult period.


The lawmaker also conveyed the condolences and sympathies of the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, to the victims and the entire community. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with relevant security agencies and government institutions to strengthen security and ensure the restoration of lasting peace in the area.


Several community leaders and stakeholders joined Hon. Chawai to sympathise with the victims and demonstrate solidarity. They included Chief Abel Adamu, Mr. Philip Bayero, Comrade Friday Ango, Comrade Mathew Taggah, Hon. Sani Shuaibu, Hon. Ayuba Gimba, Mr. Garba Stephen Dakut, Hon. Christopher Paul, among others.


The visit concluded with prayers for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives, the speedy recovery of the injured, and the return of lasting peace to Naridon and other affected communities.
