Terrifying new dashcam footage shows moment doomed NBC helicopter falls out of the sky The terrifying moment an NBC helicopter fell out of the sky and plunged into the ground near where an SUV had slammed into a Metro bus was caught on dashcam. The video, obtained by KTLA, shows the helicopter descending, caught from afar on the vehicle camera of Yera Valencia. She said: “I downloaded the video of my dashcam. It’s a little dot on the video. It’s a crisp video and it just goes down.” She added: “God, it’s so close, it could have happened to anyone. My parents walk down the street.” The two back-to-back Tuesday night crashes resulted in five deaths — two involving the bus and SUV, and three as a result of the chopper going down, killing reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia.

MISSISSIPPI MAYOR FACES BACKLASH FOR CRITICIZING TRUMP'S FLAG ORDER FOR DOLLY PARTON. (PHOTO).

Mississippi mayor faces backlash for criticizing Trump's flag order for Dolly Parton

On August 25, President Donald Trump ordered flags to be lowered to half‑staff in honor of Dolly Parton, whose death at age 80 after a brief battle with cancer united people across political lines in grief.

While many embraced the gesture as a fitting tribute to the beloved country icon, one mayor in Mississippi sparked outrage by refusing to comply.

Ken Adams of Olive Branch posted on Facebook that although he respected Parton’s legacy, he believed the symbolic act of lowering the flag should be reserved for military heroes, first responders, presidents, and other major national figures.

Adams argued that lowering the flag too often could dilute its meaning, and he emphasized that local leaders should have the authority to decide for their own communities. He insisted his stance was not political or disrespectful to Parton, but his comments quickly drew sharp criticism.

Many people felt Dolly’s contributions to music, philanthropy, and children’s literacy elevated her beyond the status of “just a celebrity.” Critics accused Adams of turning a simple, heartfelt gesture into a divisive issue, with some noting they would lower the flag for Dolly before any politician.

Supporters of the President’s directive flooded Adams’ post with tributes to Parton, praising her as a hero who touched countless lives. Veterans and first responders even voiced approval of honoring her in this way, underscoring her unique impact on American culture.

Despite the backlash, Adams stood by his position, highlighting the tension between national directives and local autonomy.

Meanwhile, Dolly Parton was laid to rest in a private ceremony in Nashville on August 28, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire across generations.
