 GOVERNOR SOLUDO LEADS CALL FOR MADE-IN-NIGERIA PRODUCTS AT DELTA ECONOMIC AND INVESTMENT SUMMIT By MaryAnn Chukwuma. The Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has led a strong call for Nigerians to embrace Made-in-Nigeria products as a sustainable strategy for creating jobs and accelerating economic growth. Governor Soludo made the call while delivering a speech at the opening ceremony of the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026, held on, August 3, in Asaba, Delta State. He said Nigeria cannot create the kind of jobs its growing population requires while citizens continue patronising imported goods instead of supporting products manufactured by local industries and entrepreneurs. The Governor noted that many participants wore suits imported from Europe, America and China, urging Nigerians to deliberately promote African-made products, especially those proudly produced within the country. President Bola Tinubu has congratulated one of Nigeria's foremost industrialists and philanthropists, Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group and Founder of ASR Africa, on his 66th birthday, commending his outstanding contributions to Nigeria's industrial development and economic transformation.


In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President joined the Rabiu family, friends, associates and the Nigerian business community in celebrating a businessman whose remarkable journey reflects vision, enterprise, resilience and unwavering confidence in Nigeria's future.


President Tinubu described Abdul Samad Rabiu as one of the architects of modern Nigerian industry, noting that his investments have expanded local production, strengthened food security, created thousands of jobs and demonstrated the ability of indigenous businesses to compete successfully across Africa.


The President said Abdul Samad Rabiu has, for decades, embodied the finest traditions of Nigerian entrepreneurship by building industries, making long-term investments and maintaining confidence in the nation's economy even during challenging periods.


President Tinubu also praised the industrialist's philanthropic efforts through ASR Africa, saying they reflect a commitment to giving back to society and strengthening institutions that serve the people.


The President noted that as his administration continues to reposition the economy for sustainable and inclusive growth, it values patriotic entrepreneurs whose investments complement government efforts to build a more productive, competitive and prosperous Nigeria.


President Tinubu prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to bless Abdul Samad Rabiu with good health, wisdom and strength, and grant him many more years of impactful service to Nigeria, Africa and humanity.
