 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY: LASG INSPIRES NEXT GENERATION THROUGH LENS


The Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board (LSFVCB) joined the world in commemorating World Photography Day by introducing children to the fascinating world of photography, visual storytelling and creative expression.


In collaboration with public and private institutions, as well as independent professional photographers who generously volunteered their time and expertise, LSFVCB created an enriching and memorable experience for the children.


The Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) and Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau (LASRAB) opened their doors to the young participants, who enjoyed an exciting studio experience and an insightful tour of the archival museum. The children also received hands-on camera training from professional photographers and dedicated volunteers who shared their knowledge and passion for the art of photography.


The programme further featured an educational visit to Racomic Photo Studio, where the children gained a deeper understanding of professional photography, as well as a behind-the-scenes experience at the PSSDC transmission studio, offering them a glimpse into the technical processes involved in creating and transmitting visual content.


Through these experiences, the children gained practical knowledge and a first-hand appreciation of how images are captured, stories are told, and visual content is brought to life.


The initiative underscores LSFVCB’s commitment to nurturing young talent, fostering creativity, and empowering the next generation of visual storytellers to see Lagos and the world through fresh and different perspectives.


Because every picture tells a story, and every child has a unique story to tell. Different Eyes. Different Stories. One Lagos.
