Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has announced the appointment of new commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants, as well as board chairmen and members of various state agencies and institutions.
The appointments, according to the state government, are part of efforts to accelerate the administration’s development agenda and deepen institutional reforms across Kaduna State.
Among those appointed as commissioners are Ben Kure, Commissioner for Sports Development; Amina Akilu Dalhat, Commissioner for Special Duties I; and Abdullahi Garba Abbas, Commissioner for Special Duties II.
The governor also appointed Dr. Halliru Soba as Deputy Chief of Staff, Administration, while Hon. Ismaila Aliyu Makarfi was named Special Adviser on Human Capital Development and Hon. Mukhtar Isa Hazo as Special Adviser on State Assembly Political Liaison.
Other appointments include Eng. Namadi Musa as Board Chairman of KADRARA, Zakari Aliyu as Managing Director of Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), and Garba Thomas Njine as Executive Director of KSMC-TV.
Bello Sani Gimi was appointed Executive Director, Corporate Services, at KAPSCO, while Dr. John Ayuba was named Senior Special Assistant on Social Policy.
A large number of other senior special assistants and special assistants were appointed to oversee areas including youth support, community integration, trade development, constituency affairs, gender advocacy, humanitarian services, emergency management, social welfare, environmental protection, community engagement and public enlightenment.
The governor also approved new appointments to the boards of several key state agencies and educational institutions.
For the Kaduna Vigilance Service Board (KADVS), AVM Bashir Gamagira Saidu was appointed chairman, alongside Makama Yusuf, Yahaya Ibrahim Shinko and Hon. Nuhu Kagai as members.
The Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board (KSPHCB) will be chaired by Alhaji Munir Jafaru, with Hon. Shehu Makarfi, Niima Hajara Kera and Hon. Andrew Dogon Yaro Iya as members.
For the Kaduna Hospital Supply Management Agency (KADHSMA), Dr. Yusuf Aliyu Bature was appointed chairman, with Ibrahim Abdullahi Shuaibu, Aliyu Muhammad and Ishaya Ranga as board members.
The government also constituted new boards for the Kaduna Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development (KIVTSD), College of Education, Gidan Waya, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Kaduna State Water Corporation (KADSWAC), Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA), Kaduna State Residents Identity Management Agency (KADRIMA) and Kaduna State Facility Management Agency (KADFAMA).
At the College of Education, Gidan Waya, Hon. Justice Gideon Isa Kurada (rtd.) was appointed board chairman, while Dr. Bello Lawal (Durumin Zazzau) will chair the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Council.
Hajia Fatima Yahaya Nuhu was named chairman of the KADSWAC Board, while Hon. Ahmed Yaro Coca-Cola will chair the KASTLEA Board.
The KADRIMA Board will be chaired by the Commissioner for Planning and Budget Commission, while Hon. Uban Kato was appointed chairman of the KADFAMA Board.
The appointments cut across several sectors, including education, healthcare, water supply, transportation, security, skills development, social welfare and community development.
The state government said the appointments are aimed at strengthening governance structures and supporting the administration’s transformational agenda in Kaduna State.
