 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

Nollywood Mourns as Actress Tope Osoba is Laid to Rest in Ogun State

 

The Nigerian film industry is in deep mourning as popular Yoruba film actress, Temitope Osoba, affectionately known as Tope Osoba, has been laid to rest. The emotional ceremony took place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Iperu Remo cemetery in Ogun State, drawing tears from family, close friends, and prominent industry colleagues.


Colleagues Pay Their Last Respects


The somber event was attended by several notable Nollywood personalities who gathered to support the grieving family and bid their final farewells. Among the film stars present at the graveside were Kunle Afod, Joke Jigan, Basira Badia, and Foluke Daramola. Emotional footage from the burial ceremony captured the heart-wrenching moments as the young actress was lowered into her final resting place, leaving many of her peers inconsolable.


Controversy and Postponed Funeral Plans


Tope Osoba passed away on August 4, 2026. Her final burial rites, which were initially scheduled for August 13, 2026, had to be put on hold. This postponement followed a massive public outcry and intense speculation regarding the mysterious circumstances surrounding her sudden demise.


The tragedy took a legal turn when the police arrested and detained her partner, Prophet Itunu, following allegations of his involvement in her untimely death. As the investigation continues, fans and colleagues alike hope for justice and clarity regarding the events leading up to her passing.
