 Pierce Brosnan and wife Keely Shaye Brosnan want to sell their oceanfront Malibu home after 26 years: Here’s why

Pierce Brosnan and his wife Keely Shaye Brosnan are weighing the decision to part with their longtime Malibu estate, a home they’ve cherished for over two decades. The couple, who raised their sons Paris and Dylan there, first listed the property for $100 million in 2020. 

Now, with frequent wildfires and natural disasters heightening their concerns, Brosnan says it may be time to move on. “We’ve been spared by the fires a few times now. But I think it’s time to move,” he told The Times, reflecting on the risks of living by the ocean on earthquake faults.

The sprawling five‑bedroom, 14‑bathroom mansion, nicknamed “Orchid House,” was custom built after the couple purchased two plots in 2000. Inspired by Brosnan’s time filming Tomorrow Never Dies in Thailand, the home features a spa, cinema, and sweeping ocean views. 

While Malibu has been their base, the Brosnans have increasingly spent time in Kauai, Hawaii, where they enjoy a simpler lifestyle in a three‑bedroom cottage with chickens and a yurt for painting. 

Brosnan admitted that financial pressures and changing social circles in Malibu have also influenced their thinking, noting that “everything changes; everything falls apart.”

Despite his affection for Malibu, Brosnan has long hinted at a shift toward Hawaii, calling it “home” in past interviews. The move would mark another chapter in his family’s journey, which has included raising children from both his marriages and coping with the loss of his first wife, Cassandra Harris, to ovarian cancer in 1991. 

For Brosnan and Keely, the decision to sell reflects both practical concerns and a desire for a quieter, more grounded life away from the volatility of California’s coast.
