VIOLENT CRIMES: POLICE ARREST THREE FOR CULPABLE HOMICIDE, TWO FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY AND FOETICIDE
In its sustained onslaught against violent crimes, the Bauchi State Police Command has made significant breakthroughs with the arrest of suspects in three separate cases of Culpable Homicide and Criminal Conspiracy/Foeticide in Bauchi Metropolis, Kirfi and Ningi LGAs.
CASE ONE: CULPABLE HOMICIDE IN BAUCHI METROPOLIS
On 18/09/2026 at about 1946hrs, the Command received a report from the a Ward Head in Gida Dubu area, Bauchi, that on the same date at about 1715hrs, a misunderstanding ensued between one Abubakar Hudu 'm' 19 years old and one Hassan Adamu 'm' at the residence of the latter, which degenerated into exchange of blows. The parties were separated and the victim left the scene.
Subsequently, at about 1745hrs, the victim fell unconscious and was rushed to the Specialist Hospital, Bauchi by his relatives, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor.
Detectives from 'C' Division immediately visited the scene of crime and the hospital. The corpse was examined by a medical doctor, photographed, and released to the family for burial. The suspect has been trailed, arrested and is being investigated.
CASE TWO: CULPABLE HOMICIDE IN KIRFI
In a related development, on 17/09/2026 at about 2200hrs, a report from Shango Police Outpost indicated that one Muhammad Bello, a Village Head in Kirfi LGA, reported that a dispute over farmland between one Haruna Bala 'm' 25 years old and one Audu Babangida 'm' 22 years old, both residents of Kafin Sarkin Yaki Village escalated into a fight. In the process, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim on the neck with a knife.
The victim was rushed to General Hospital Kirfi, where he was confirmed dead. The corpse was released to relatives for burial according to Islamic rites.
Following an intensive intelligence-led manhunt, operatives of Kirfi Division on 18/09/2026 at about 1100hrs arrested the fleeing suspect at River Kafin Iya while attempting to cross to Gombe State. The exhibit (knife) was recovered.
CASE THREE: CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY AND FOETICIDE IN NINGI
Similarly, on 18/09/2026 at about 1830hrs, based on credible information from the a Human Rights activist in Ningi, one Aminu Jibrin, a male from Burra District criminally conspired with one Salihu Moh'd 'm' 25 years old of Sabuwar Tiffi, a chemist shop operator, and unlawfully administered substances that induced and terminated a pregnancy of one Hauwa'u Yakubu, a 22 years old resident of AAY Quarters, Ningi.
Operatives of Ningi Division have arrested the duo of Aminu Jibrin and Salihu Moh'd, for alleged criminal conspiracy and killing of unborn child.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc(+), has directed that all cases be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi for discreet investigation and prosecution.
The CP warns against jungle justice and self-help in dispute resolution, and urges members of the public to remain law-abiding and continue to support the Police with timely and credible information.
