 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

      The Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai has expressed satisfaction and commended the level of achievement and transformation within one year by the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DG-DICON) under the leadership of Major General VO Ezugwu. He made the commendation on Thursday 25 June 2020 during activities lined up to showcase one year in office of Maj Gen Victor Ezugwu as the DG DICON. General Buratai wa s optimistic that with the state of the transformation in infrastructure, equipment and general facilities at DICON, Nigeria is on the path to attaining self sufficiency in military armaments and hardware.       In another gesture towards ameliorating the hardship of those affected by the activities of armed bandits, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has extended free medical services to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Faskari Community, Faskari Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State. This is coming just a few days after the conduct of a similar medical outreach in Sabon Birni LGA of Sokoto State. The medical outreach is part of the NAF’s non-kinetic, civil-military relations efforts aimed at providing succour to all those who had been displaced from their communities due to recent attacks by armed bandits. This is just as the Service has ramped up efforts to address the banditry challenge with the deployment of additional air assets to Sokoto, Kaduna, Niger, Zamfara and Katsina States.       *Arrested Sixteen suspects and Restore normalcy in the Area* On the 25/6/2020 at about 2:am there was a report of clash between some group of youth allegedly loyal to HRH Igwe Oliver Nnaji,(Igwe Ogwuniocha)a riverine Community in Ogbaru LGA of Anambra State with another group of persons loyal to one Okwudili Oganah who allegedly crowned himself Igwe.As a result of the clash,one person was confirmed dead,five persons sustained injuries and some houses vandalised. EFCC ARRESTS MAN FOR ATTEMPTED N1.5MILLION FRAUD.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    The Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday June 24, 2020 arrested one Anthony Ojemolon for attempting to obtain money by false pretences and impersonating officials of the Commission. Ojemolon, 47, who claims to be a builder based in Lagos, said he paid a visit to his country home in Ekpoma, Edo State when he gathered that one Ehimen Peter, aka Senator, a Libya returnee, h ad become suddenly rich and he decided to seek ways of defrauding him. "I was in my village where I met some people discussing about Senator, that he has hammered, I asked for his mobile number and decided to call him. I wanted to take my own share. I told him to bring N1.5million to settle people in EFCC who are looking for him and N150,000 for myself," Ojemolon said.       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja Zonal Office, on Thursday, June 25, 2020, arrested six suspected internet fraudsters for alleged involvement in cyber crimes. . . The arrest of the suspects was sequel to several intelligence garnered overtime about their suspicious lifestyles. They were arrested in the Dawaki model city estate, Abuja. . . The suspects are Iyoriobhe Endurance, 20; Peter Uyebitame, 23; Emmanuel Akpobome, 23; Samuel Odianose, 24, Basil Ezenwa, 24 and Dare Adegun, 24. Items recovered from them include, one Mercedes Benz C350, 4 Matic, eight (8) expensive phones and four laptops. The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.More photos below.

FAKE LAND OFFICER BAGS 30 YEARS FOR N32MILLION FRAUD.{PHOTO}.

      .Justice O.A Ipaye of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja has convicted and sentenced a fraudulent land officer to 30 years imprisonment for defrauding her "client" a sum of N32.9million( Thirty- Two Million Nine Hundred Thousand Naira only). . The convict, Omotayo Yemisi Apelara, was arraigned by the Lagos Zonal office of the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission( EFCC), on November 25, 2013 on six-count c harges bordering on obtaining money by false pretences and stealing to the tune of Thirty-two Million, Nine Hundred Thousand Naira (N32, 900. 000. 00).
