Tinubu forgave Northern govs who opposed him in 2023, says Shettima Vice President Kashim Shettima has said President Bola Tinubu demonstrated political maturity by forgiving northern governors who opposed his presidential bid in the 2023 election, urging politicians in Kwara State to similarly reconcile after their contests.  I’ll win 2027 presidential election, PDP dead – Kwankwaso The national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence of winning the 2027 presidential election. Kwankwaso, who was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, made the outburst on Saturday when he inaugurated the NNPP Secretariat, along IBB Way, Katsina. Ikenga Ugochinyere (PDP, Imo) has said that no congress of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was held in Rivers State at the weekend. Ugochinyere said, rather the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike held a party with his friends, under the guise of a party congress. The main opposition party’s state congresses, took place at the weekend, and was marred by complaints from several states, including Rivers, Benue, Katsina, and Kogi.   Kentucky School employee arrested after pointing a firearm at a student's head. 31-year-old Christopher Collier was arrested on Thursday, September 5th, after a disturbing incident in the parking lot of Clay County High-School.  According to reports, Collier, who is a voluntary staff member, was able to gain access to the school parking lot Wednesday morning with a weapon under false pretense. At approximately 11 a.m., Mr. Collier persuaded a student to get into his truck. Once the child was in the vehicle, Mr. Collier brandished his weapon, pointing it at the student's head. He then told the student he was going to take his life. He also told the student "he was going to make a video of his death". Christopher Collier is being charged with criminal trespassing, wanton endangerment, terrorist threatening and unlawful possession of a weapon on school property. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.  Several students wounded in another Kenya school fire Several students were injured after a massive fire broke out at a girls' school in Isiolo town in central Kenya on Saturday, according to TRT Afrika. Speaking to journalists, police spokesperson Resla Onyango confirmed that some students were injured and the dormitory was razed to the ground. “The fire has been contained, and experts are at the scene for investigations and other procedures,” Onyango added. This is the second fire disaster affecting schools two days in Kenya, with the first incident leaving at least 21 boys dead and dozens of others missing. Video footage circulating online shows a massive blaze engulfing the dormitory, while the cause of the fire remains unknown. The Kenya Red Cross said its emergency teams were on the ground to assist in the rescue and recovery efforts.
