BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND    PRESS RELEASE The Editors, BAUCHI POLICE FOIL ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING, INTERCEPTED TWO SUSPECTS The Bauchi State Police Command has foiled an attempted kidnapping and arrested two suspects during a rapid response operation in Misau LGA, Bauchi State. Acting on credible intelligence received on 12th May 2026 from an anonymous source, operatives of the Command swiftly mobilized, trailed, and intercepted the suspects before they could carry out their plan. The timely intervention prevented harm to the intended victims and disrupted the criminal network’s operation. The arrested suspects were identified as Kyellumi Umar and Muhammad Aliyu Gawo. During interrogation, Kyellumi revealed that they had planned to rob one Alh. A. Labdo, whom they claimed does not keep his money in the bank, and Alh. ADEDAYO BENJAMIN LANIYI AS DG/CEO OF THE MARYAM BABANGIDA NATIONAL CENTRE FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT President Bola Tinubu, has approved the appointment of Ms. Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi as the Director-General /Chief Executive Officer of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD) and  members of the Governing Council  for an initial term of four (4) years.
