 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Nigerian doctor exposed to a COVID-19 patient, dies in Lagos
     A Nigerian medical practitioner, Dr. Chugbo Emeka, in private practice, on Wednesday morning, died of coronavirus-related complications after treating an infected patient in his hospital.
The doctor, identified as Dr. Chugbo Emeka, who died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, was said to have been admitted at the hospital on Monday, after contracting the disease from a COVID-19 patient he was said to have managed in a private hospital, where he worked before his death.
Vanguard gathered that the patient he was treating died on Friday April 3.
Confirming the development, Chief Medical Director, LUTH, Profesor Chris Bode, said the doctor was not a staff of the hospital, but was rushed to the facility after he showed severe signs of the disease.
Bode said: “He was brought in late, so there was no much we could do. He was a staff in LUTH years back before he went to join the private sector.
